After three days and two nights in the bush, we arrived at the end point; exhausted, bruised, blistered, aching. This photo was taken before we discovered that the car battery was dead.
After a hearty breakfast, the six of us set off into the bush for three days carrying all our camping gear, food, water and so on. After about an hour it dawned on me how heavy my pack was and how hard the next three days were going to be! Here’s Sarah making a brew after arriving at camp on the first day.
Today a group of us travelled south to Donnelly River ready to start our 3-day bush trek tomorrow. We’ll be walking a short section of the Bibbulmun Track which is 1000km long in total. We stayed in a cottage in the village and were greeted by hoards of wild kangaroos when we got out of the car.
Today I hiked to the most incredible tree I have ever seen. Thick vines grew over the original tree, which eventually died, rotted and was washed away leaving a hollow vine tree in it’s place. It is absolutely enormous and I climbed the inside to the top.
I can’t believe tree exists in the real world.
